For Love of an Alpha ~ or how I got this way!!!

Today, one of my all-time favorite actresses passed away. Maureen O’Hara was the epitome of balls-out female actresses who left nothing on the table.

How did I know or care about some actress from the 50’s? Because my mom, grand mom, everyone in my family were prodigious book readers and movie-goers. I had the shit scared out of me early by THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL and WAR OF THE WORLDS. And the classic Hollywood musical? Oh my. I’ve seen them all. Over and over.

I can remember hunkering down with my mom and grandmother to watch TV movies. We also went to a classic old-time (not then but certainly now!) movie theater that showed Hollywood classics mid-week. This youngling learned a lot from those outings and experiences!

Looking back I see clear as a bell that those two unique women introduced me to the swooning delights of the Alpha Male.

No, seriously! Which brings us back to Maureen O’Hara.

Let there be no mistake about it … two of my favorite characters from the Justice series were inspired by Ms. O’Hara and the biggest baddest Alpha of them all … John Wayne.

Just take a look at this PERFECT scene. It’s so Alex and Meghan that it makes me laugh.

The Quiet Man Kiss Scene

I’m glad my mom loved movies and reading and theater. Without those influences I wouldn’t know the awesomeness of the original red-haired Irish bad ass, Maureen O’Hara. Thanks for the memories!

Loved the Justice Brothers series. The books are entertaining and enjoyable to read. The characters are well written and very believable. You care about them and cannot read just one book. You care about this band of friends who become brothers thru the horrors of war and it’s aftermath.
    Thank you🐢

Sanctuary was terrific. Can’t remember the last time I read a book where each and every character was described so perfectly you could visualize them every time they appeared in the story. Your stories are a virtual party in my head. Thank you!

Loved the Justice boys, but seriously adore the Justice family. I know it’s fiction but Suzanne makes the characters so real I want to be adopted into the extended family. More please; soon please and thank you so much.
